I admit to being obsessed by circles. The resulting paintings have changed forms & evolved in style but what has remained steady is the influence of nature on my work. A couple of weeks ago, during a fantastic visit to Lesqueti Island, we took Sylvain & Denise’s skiff over to Sangster Island to see fields and cliffs of wild flowers, to soak up the sunset and eat amazing food on the beach. I was reminded of my first experience of The Burren, in the West coast of Ireland, where the wind, rain and salt water etch the earth with their significance. The air is thick with spirits, nature weaving her own changeable story for those who care to see. Here are some shots from those few hours on Sangster.
